Our Story

 

The main focus of the MEF is to raise funding, support and awareness within the local community, aiming to champion information technology establishments with the capability to accommodate people, resources and facilities for educational excellence.  Ultimately, the intention is to utilise this concept and make it available to any educational initiative. 

 

The International Centre for Technology (ICT) is the MEF’s most original project. 

The ICT is to become a new dedicated facility and specialist centre for practical, world-class tertiary education, specifically designed to enhance the profile of the Isle of Man’s information and communications technology sector.

"Three years ago, three individuals got together with a vision to create something radically different to stimulate and grow the Isle of Man economy, that vision was the ICT (International Centre for Technology)

 

Over those three years we have garnered off Island support from the British Computer Society, Hewlett Packard and Huawei for the project.  We have negotiated a commercial guarantee from the Isle of Man Government and have engaged with, and gained financial support from a number of local businesses.

 

The ICT Project is supported by the MEF so the sole beneficiary is the Isle of Man Economy and the people who live and work on our fair Isle.

 

As we enter the final stages of fundraising to make the University a reality and fundamentally alter the landscape of business and education on the Island, we look to you to support us and work with us to create a legacy for the Isle of Man"
